Our holiday packages are all inclusive and there are no hidden extras. From the moment you arrive you will be treated as part of the family and you will find us relaxed and friendly. We have a wide variety of horses and ponies to suit all sizes and abilities and you will be encouraged to play a part in the day to day running of the stables. Usually during your stay you will find one or more horse which you feel most comfortable with. If you are inexperienced or rusty we will break you in gently but for those of you who are more experienced and fitter the regime can be more exciting. Hacks and lessons are arranged to suit the individual and our itinerary is arranged around you and your requirements.
Our 1824 home welcomes you with a wealth of original features combined with modern comforts
All members of your family are welcome, both riders and non-riders. We accommodate as many as 5 in the house in one single, one twin and one double room, no supplement is charged for single occupancy. We enjoy having your pets as long as they can follow the same regime as our own pets, and are happy to accommodate your own horses at no extra cost.
For relaxation there are two drawing rooms. One is small and cosy with TV and wood burning stove, while the other is much larger with large sofas, a view of the garden and its own wood burning stove. Through the French windows is a patio for Bar B Qs and drinks on a summer evening. Beyond, the lawn and garden slope down to the River Corran.
Your holiday includes all meals through the day and all drinks. Breakfast and dinner are served in the cosy breakfast room or the formal dining room, whilst the traditional ploughman’s lunch or home made soup is offered in the country kitchen.
We specialize in home cooking in the traditional English style, using organic fruit and vegetables from our kitchen garden in season. We can cater for vegetarian, vegan and special diets as long as we know your requirements.
As you can see we have specialist help in maintaining the highest standards of hygiene!
A really heartfelt "Thank you" for a truly amazing week. Your hospitality has been so warm and welcoming, you made me feel like part of the family. Melissa, you are such a patient and encouraging teacher, thank you for restoring my confidence and not commenting on my lack of muscle ! ! Jackie for" feeding me up" I am sure I will be moaning when I try to get my work trousers back on. But what delicious food, I couldn't say no. It has been an absolute pleasure and I will most definitely see you again. From the bottom of my heart Thank you. I think you're both amazing. With love, Linda (Van Winkle)
I can’t thank you enough for a fabulous week. I am still on a feel-good high. I have proved the saying – “teaching old dogs new tricks” wrong. I have learnt such a lot; putting a small percentage into practice will make me a much better rider. I have nothing but superlatives to describe both of you and your beautiful horses. It was a real privilege to be allowed to ride forward-going and well mannered animals. It definitely left me wanting more. - Penny (Wallasey)
I just wanted to drop you a line to say what a fabulous four days Heather and I had with you last month. You and your friends made us both feel very welcome and the horses were wonderful and of a very high standard. Heather did a lot of “firsts” with her riding and the beach/forest ride with the”ups and downs” was amazing. Please pass on our thanks to Helen and Nicky for the terrific instruction. My only complaint was that I didn’t manage to lose any weight as the food was too good!! Thank you again for welcoming us into your home, we are saving up for a return visit. - Alison and Heather (Midlands)
Thank you so much for a truly wonderful few days and for making us so welcome. The whole five hour return trip home we spent talking about our time with you. - Liz and Ellie (St. Alban’s)
Thank you so much for looking after us and giving us such a great time. We really did enjoy our time with you. The highlight was definitely riding on the beach! Unfortunately neither of us is a good advert for Hill’s riding as we can’t sit down, stand up or bend over! There are parts of my body that I didn’t know existed! My tennis friends say I am walking like John Wayne. - Philippa and Michael (London)
Fantastic rack of lamb…not to mention lemon posset!! A wonderful sleep in one of Jackie’s comfy beds and the quiet and peace of the country. Laura and Anne (Toronto, Canada)
